VF Corp. has named Scott H. Baxter to vice president, VF Corp. and group president, outdoor and action sports, Americas.

Baxter, a nine-year veteran of VF, was previously vice president, VF Corp. and group president, jeanswear, Americas, imagewear and South America.

Steven E. Rendle, president and chief operating officer, said that Baxter has a “proven record of achievement in retail and wholesale channels, as well as measurable accomplishments in managing iconic brands and the organizations enabling them.”

Last year, VF’s outdoor and action sports coalition in the Americas represented 35 percent of the firm’s global revenue. Three of the company’s largest brands by revenue are in the group: The North Face, Vans and Timberland.

Phil McAdams, a 38-year veteran in VF’s jeanswear business, will succeed Baxter as president of the jeanswear, Americas, coalition, which includes the Wrangler and Lee brands. Tom Waldron, with 21 years of experience at VF, succeeds McAdams as president of the Wrangler brand. He was previously vice president, general manager mass brands, which is within the jeanswear coalition.

Kevin Bailey, president, VF action sports and Vans, will add to his responsibilities oversight for VF activities in Central and South America, as well as the outdoor and action sports businesses in Canada and Mexico. His achievements include developing and implementing the global strategy for the Vans brand. Bailey has been president of Vans since 2009. Last year the brand’s global revenues were $2.2 billion.
