Wal-mart Stores today said it has named to its board of directors Tom Horton, former chairman and ceo of American Airlines. Horton, who becomes the 16th board member, will serve on the audit committee.
“[Horton’s] broad leadership roles combined with his global insights and understanding of the corporate issues a multinational company manages will benefit the board, the management team and our shareholders, said
chairman Rob Walton.
“I’ve long admired Wal-Mart’s values and the way it helps people’s lives across the world,” Horton said. “Wal-Mart has a strong leadership team backed by a solid business plan and is building new and innovator ways to serve customers.”
