LONDON — British high-street label Warehouse has hired Kate Walmsley for the newly created role of customer director.

She will start her new position later this year, and will join the Warehouse management team, under chief executive officer Liz Evans. Walmsley will oversee the brand’s customer experience through digital, marketing public relations, brand creative, visual merchandising, customer services, innovation and social media departments.

“In creating the customer director role, spanning all customer engagement both on and offline, Warehouse is demonstrating their desire to meet the demands of the contemporary customer,” Walmsley said.

She was previously the digital director at Topshop and planning director at AKQA, a digital agency.

The creation of Walmsley’s new role is a part of the brand’s new direction including the appointments of Alasdhair Willis as board member and brand consultant and Emma Cook as design director. Cook will launch her first line with the brand later this year.
