LONDON — Alasdhair Willis has resigned as chief executive of Established & Sons, the award-winning British furniture design company he founded in 2005, to focus on his creative consultancy, Announcement, a spokesman told WWD exclusively.
At Announcement, which he founded in 2003, Willis counts Estee Lauder, the Francois Pinault Foundation, and Adidas among his clients. He is currently helping Adidas with its campaigns for the London Olympic and Paralympic games in 2012. In addition, Willis was recently appointed as the creative consultant for David Beckham.
Willis, who is married to Stella McCartney, said he would remain an equity shareholder in Established & Sons, which works with emerging talent and designers and architects including Zaha Hadid, Jasper Morrison, Konstantin Grcic, and Amanda Levete.
“I’m extremely proud of what I’ve achieved at Established & Sons. To create an internationally respected brand from ground up is a major achievement in today’s climate,” Willis said.
“I’d like to thank my team and the designers I’ve worked with for their support. I wish the business the best for the future and hope they can continue with what has been created,” he added.
