MILAN — More legal trouble is hitting John Richmond’s former partner.
According to media reports, the Milan police seized fashion pieces for a total value of 1.5 million euros, or $1.7 million at current exchange rate, at the former John Richmond store located on the city’s Via Bigli, in the Golden Triangle shopping district.
The store is owned by Biver srl, the company controlled by Saverio Moschillo, who in November 2015 sold his 50 percent stake in the John Richmond brand to Luxembourg-based Fashion East.
The police operation follows the decisions of the Milan Court, spanning over the past year, declaring that Moschillo as well as his companies Gioia Milano srl, Moschillo srl and Biver srl, cannot use any label and trademark including the names John Richmond and Richmond.
The Italian police also sized the machines, which Moschillo used to manufacture the designer’s collections in Forlì, in the Emilia-Romagna region.
Richmond is currently working to relaunch his brand. The designer and Fashion East have signed licensing agreements for the production and distribution of shoes, bags, scarves, sportswear and casualwear, as well as swimwear.
