The Estée Lauder Cos. has created a new position, senior vice president, Global General Manager, Market Development, for its two largest brands, Estée Lauder and Clinique.
Filling the role at the Estée Lauder brand is Daniel Annese, while Ricardo Quintero will assume the position at Clinique. Both appointments, which involve responsibility for growth and profitability in each of the brand’s regions of sales, are effective immediately. Annese will continue to report to Jane Hertzmark Hudis, global brand president of the Estée Lauder brand, while Quintero will continue to report to Lynne Greene, global brand president for Clinique, Origins and Ojon.
Annese, most recently senior vice president and general manager of Estée Lauder International, will now operate in the brand’s six geographic regions — North America, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Asia-Pacific, Travel Retail and the United Kingdom. He will also oversee the brand’s global education function. Annese joined the company in 1994.
“Under [Daniel’s] strong leadership, the Estée Lauder brand’s international business has experienced five years of uninterrupted growth,” noted Hudis. “Expanding his role to cover North America and Global Education will provide Daniel with the opportunity to build global synergies with all regions.”
Quintero, most recently senior vice president and general manager for Clinique, the Americas, will now operate in all of Clinique’s geographic regions — North America, Latin America, the United Kingdom, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Asia/Pacific and Travel Retail — as well as global education. He joined the company in 1999.
“Over the last two years, [Ricardo] has delivered strong growth and market share gains in the North American business, especially in the face of difficult economic times,” said Greene. “He demonstrated how to win mindshare with consumers and market share from competitors with the recent launch of Even Better Clinical.”
In addition, Charisse Ford has been named senior vice president of global marketing for Estée Lauder. She assumes the position from Elana Drell Szyfer, who has left the company. Ford was most recently vice president of global marketing, Skin care and Face, for the Lauder brand. In this position, Ford will be responsible for leading global product marketing programs for the skin care, makeup and fragrance categories. Her position is effective immediately and she reports to Hudis.
