MILAN — Italian eyewear-maker Luxottica, which produces and distributes brands such as Chanel, Giorgio Armani and Prada, has appointed Stefano Volpetti as chief marketing officer, effective August 1.

In the position, which was previously held by Fabio d’Angelantonio, Volpetti will report to Adil Mehboob-Khan, chief executive officer for markets. As reported, d’Angelantonio left Luxottica earlier this month.

Prior to Luxottica, Volpetti, who graduated in business administration from Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli in Rome, gained his professional background at Procter & Gamble Co., initially within the marketing and sales departments, then serving as general manager, leading to his most recent position as vice president of the beauty division.
