Chris Martinelli has joined Hugo Boss North America as vice president of marketing and communications.
An 18-year industry veteran, he served most recently as vice president and head of global communications for Equinox. Before that, Martinelli held senior communications roles for Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger and LaForce + Stevens.
At Hugo Boss, Martinelli reports to Tony Lucia, president and chief executive officer of the German company’s North American division.
In his new role, he will oversee all marketing as well as public relations, events, partnerships and entertainment industry relations in North America. He will be based at the company’s headquarters on Water Street in New York.
Reporting to him will be Chelsea Pizzillo, senior director of marketing; Kelly Frey, director of public relations, and Ana Pavoni, director of events and entertainment industry relations.
In 2017, the company reported earnings before interest and taxes increased 29 percent to 341 million euros, while operating profit was flat at 491 million euros. Group sales hit 2.73 billion euros, a gain of 1 percent. In currency-adjusted terms, sales grew 3 percent.
