MISHA’S DEEP DIVE: Misha Nonoo, a young advanced contemporary women’s wear designer, is teaming with Engine’s Deep Focus as its creative agency of record. The global digitally led creative agency will be responsible for managing creative, strategy and digital, working alongside Nonoo’s other agency partners. The agency’s first work for the brand will occur in September during New York Fashion Week.
Nonoo skipped a runway show this season to gear up for September, when she’ll stage a fall show for consumers. Last fall she had an “Insta-show” where she posted her collection on Instagram and had influencers such as Lena Dunham and Olivia Palermo post pictures on their accounts. Her “Insta-show” reached more than 15.1 million followers on Instagram, and during September 2015, the month of the Insta-show, the brand received an 80 percent increase in new visitors to the site.
Deep Focus was founded in 2002 by Ian Schafer. Headquartered in New York, the agency handles such clients as Frito-Lay, Nestlé, Purina, Alibaba, Microsoft and Samsung. Deep Focus is part of Engine, a midsize global marketing services network.
Nonoo, the Bahrain-born, London-bred designer, launched her namesake label in fall 2011. She was a finalist for the CFDA Vogue/Fashion Fund and International Woolmark Prize and is a participant in the CFDA’s “Incubator” program. She has also been awarded the Fashion Group International’s Rising Star award for women’s ready-to-wear.
