DAZZLED AND BEJEWELED: Swarovski is about to unveil its fall ad campaign entitled, “Brilliant Inspiration.” The ads promote Crystals from Swarovski and spotlight individuals from the worlds of art, design and style.
The campaign features eight portraits shot by Tim Walker. Among them are Mary Katrantzou, the fashion designer, who clutches a richly embroidered creation to her chest; Edward Enninful, W magazine’s creative and fashion director, who wears a suit crawling with bejeweled insects; Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy, who are surrounded by their delicately crystallized butterflies; Thom Browne, who is shown with a crystal-encrusted briefcase, and Jason Wu, who drapes himself in intricately embellished embroideries. In addition, Karlie Kloss, the brand’s ambassador, appears in the campaign wearing a custom bodysuit made of flat backs and sew-on stones from Crystals from Swarovski and rings by Atelier Swarovski.
The full, multichannel campaign will be used for traditional advertising, social media, public relations and communication. Ads will appear in the September issues of U.S. and international magazines beginning Monday. The company’s fall budget wasn’t disclosed.
Markus Langes-Swarovski, a member of the executive and advisory board of Swarovski, said the ads are “a fantastic visual representation of Swarovski’s symbiotic relationships with the world’s top talents.”
The campaign was developed by Trey Laird, chief executive officer and chief creative officer of Laird + Partners, who said, “We wanted to capture the endless inspiration Swarovski crystals provide for creative forces,” adding that each of the people in the ads “bring the spirit of the brand to life and help convey the possibilities that can be created with Swarovski.”
