“By connecting two powerhouse continents with fashion brand management, this strategic partnership marks the beginning of a new era for American fashion companies desiring to expand into China and vice versa,” said Paul Fang, founder and chief executive officer of Suntchi. “We take great pride in branding and marketing new and established designers, identifying cultural trends and increasing market share.”

He added that the partnership “is certain to create massive opportunity for American designers, many of whom, require our Super IP+ integration platform to operate in China.

“Thousands of fashion and lifestyle companies can now connect to create new consumer scenarios and consumption patterns, combining entertainment, art and fashion to prompt China’s consumer adoption,” he said.

Through the partnership, CFDA’s 500-plus membership will have unrestricted access to the Chinese market.

“Partnership with Suntchi aligns with our mission to strengthen the impact of American fashion in the global marketplace,” said Steven Kolb, president and ceo of the CFDA. “Suntchi is well established and uniquely positioned to offer tremendous opportunity and exposure for our members to their extensive network of business partners in China.”

Kolb added: “Keep in mind a lot of designers don’t even know how to begin to navigate business in China. That’s been true for a long time. The big guys know what to do, but the smaller and mid-size [designers]  wouldn’t know where to begin.” Suntchi, which has access to investors, will meet with CFDA designers throughout the year. “They will advise and provide a pathway into the retail market, if that’s of interest,” Kolb said.

In addition to investors, Suntchi will also introduce CFDA designers to other Chinese designers, brands and licensing agents. “They will help create some awareness of CFDA in general,” he added. In addition, he said Suntchi will work with CFDA and its members to create a web site to promote CFDA members, which is more marketing and promotional, and will advise on how American designers can set up e-commerce in China.
