Ready-to-wear fair MIPAP has moved back next to Super and will run concurrently. European jewelry association Eurobijoux will set up shop inside the show, promoting assorted European brands and local manufacturing.

Super will showcase its trendy, contemporary women’s ready-to-wear lineup alongside MIPAP, with 250 brands participating. The Super Talents area will focus on emerging labels.

The Micam, Milan’s footwear trade show, has 1,557 exhibiting brands on the roster this time around — 617 of which are from outside Italy. Newcomers include Christian Lacroix, Colmar, Missoni and Porsche Design.

The show, spread across 67,500 square meters (about 726,560 square feet), will feature a new area in Pavilion 10 called theMICAMsquare, where visitors can mingle and attend seminars on visual merchandising, trends, retail and technology innovation. Attendees will also be able to access a free Wi-Fi connection throughout the event location and on Corso Italia.

Textile fair Milano Unica has renewed its partnership with The Woolmark Co. for the “On Stage” initiative in support of young designers. On Sept. 9, a special installation at Carla Sozzani’s luxury shopping hub, 10 Corso Como, will highlight the works of eight fashion designers of the project’s 50 participants. The same evening, Milano Unica will host a dinner around the corner at the Eataly food center, where fashion brand Cesare Attolini will be recognized for its costume designs in Paolo Sorrentino’s Academy Award-winning film, “The Great Beauty.”

Milano Unica will also host a denim area at the fair in collaboration with Pitti Immagine, and a special section with 29 high-end Japanese textile companies.

Aiming to boost international traffic, Lineapelle — which originated in Milan in 1981 — is moving back home after 28 years in Bologna. The leather goods trade show will display a wide array of skins, both real and synthetic, as well as accessories and samples used in shoes, clothing and home decor. The fashion section will present a selection of trendy collections, while the workshop section, which launched in March in Bologna, will showcase live artisans working different materials and prototypes. About 1,100 firms are expected to attend from 40 countries.

Changes are on tap for international leather-goods show Mipel. It has new dates in early September, and has restyled Mipel eCommerce with new graphics and functions. In all four Mipel areas, the mood will be one of “transformation.”

New this year is the introduction of a regulation for admission to the “Punto.IT” where all exhibited products must be accompanied by a label indicating three levels of Made in Italy, from simple assembly in Italy to entirely Italian production, part of a drive to highlight products truly “Made in Italy.”

For the first time this year, the White show will showcase a bijoux area in its 35 Via Tortona section, with new brands like Acquamarina, Manurina and Tissa Fontaneda. New exhibitors including Jimi Roos and Urania Gazelli are in the 54 Via Tortona area, and Ermanno Gallamini, Salar and Linda Farrow, among others, are in the 27 Via Tortona section.
