Rudsak, a Canadian maker of leather outerwear, handbags, accessories and footwear, is now focusing on the U.S. market to build its wholesale business. Until now, the 14-year-old company has concentrated on Canadian retailers. Rudsak also owns and operates 11 signature stores there. In addition to its women’s and men’s collections, Rudsak produces and sells lifestyle and home furnishings in its own stores. For the American market, the company aims to emphasize the fashion offerings. A leather poly-filled coat with an asymmetric zipper, a wool coat with a wide belt and leather trim hip-length jacket with a Napoleon collar are among the offerings for fall. Wholesale price range from $200 to $500. The company plans to target department and specialty stores
Founder and president Evik Asatoorian said, “We are not in the business of dictating looks,” but it is more geared to “enhancing each individual’s own unique sense of style.” The brand plans to build up a U.S. base of retail accounts before opening any freestanding stores of its own, a company spokeswoman said.
