StockX is expanding its leadership team with the appointment of Deena Bahri as its first chief marketing officer.
She will oversee the online resale marketplace’s brand, marketing, content and design teams, as well as its consumer-facing strategy.
Bahri joins just months after the company appointed Scott Cutler chief executive officer.
“StockX has seen such incredible growth in its three-year history — the platform has quickly scaled into the largest of its kind globally,” said Bahri. “The revolutionary nature of the model and the impact the brand has had on the industry were, in large part, what drew me to the position. I’m excited to continue to build on the foundation laid by our very talented brand, marketing, design and content teams and to find new, innovative ways to tell the StockX story to an ever-growing audience.”
A graduate of Harvard Business School, Bahri served as cmo of Birchbox, held marketing leadership roles at Reebok, Gilt Groupe and The Ladders, and most recently served as cmo of personal genomics company Helix.
Co-founded by Josh Luber, StockX appointed Cutler to succeed Luber as ceo in June 2019 after closing its $110 million Series C funding round that increased its valuation to $1 billion. The Detroit-based company this year opened its first physical location in New York City and this week entered a partnership with Bleacher Report to be the media company’s official sneaker marketplace, which will include two original content series under development and supporting the annual B/R Kicks Drop Up event.
