Ted Baker has signed a global licensing agreement for watches with Timex Group. The U.K.-based brand formerly had a deal with Geneva Watch Group. The new deal, which kicks off in summer 2019, is intended to better complement the company’s apparel and accessory collections, Ted Baker said.
The design aesthetic and prices have not been determined, but the collection will be available internationally through Timex’s retail customers and global distribution network as well as in Ted Baker’s 532 stores and concessions around the world.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Ted Baker to drive accelerated growth in our watch business by leveraging the Timex Group global footprint and infrastructure, in line with our strategy to further develop Ted Baker as a global lifestyle brand,” said Ray Kelvin, founder and chief executive officer of Ted Baker.
“We are delighted to bring Timex Group’s expertise and long history as an authentic watchmaker to Ted Baker and look forward to producing exciting and innovative timepieces for their consumers,” said Tobias Reiss Schmidt, president and ceo of Timex Group.
Ted Baker has been moving to better manage its worldwide business and this summer signed a license with Delta Galil for men’s underwear, loungewear and thermals.
