Megan Summerville won the Texas Next Top Designer competition last week at a runway show and cocktail party at Victory Park, when her corsets triumphed over 22 other contestants in the group’s third talent search.

Summerville, chief executive of Sew Sister in Austin, has made intimate apparel since 2002, including custom bras up to size 52N. Her $40,000 prize included $5,000 in cash plus mentoring, studio space and other professional services.

Texas Next Top Designer Inc. is a nonprofit organization that aims to help launch fashion businesses. Formerly known as the Dallas Fashion Incubator, its board includes executives from Stanley Korshak and J.C. Penney. Previous winners include Julia Plume of Austin and Abi Ferrin of Dallas.
