Tommy Fazio and UBM Fashion have parted ways once again.
Fazio, who served most recently as fashion director for all of the company’s men’s trade shows, including Project, has exited the company.
All told, Fazio spent more than six years with the trade show company, which was bought earlier this year by Informa plc, a British group that spent more than $5 billion to buy the organization in January.
Fazio had worked for UBM and its predecessor companies for four years and held roles including vice president of retail fashion before leaving in the middle of 2016. He rejoined the company shortly after as fashion director of the UBM Fashion Group. In 2017, he was charged with directing trends, merchandising and brand support for the men’s market for all the shows.
Before entering the trade show business, Fazio had served as fashion director of Nordstrom from September 2011 through October 2012. Prior to that, he was fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman for more than six years.
In a statement, Informa said: “Tommy Fazio has been a leader in the fashion community overseeing the men’s portfolio for the past six years. He was the visionary behind the launch of the designer show, The Tents, which brings together the most prominent brands, retailers and press in the high-end contemporary marketplace. In addition, Tommy oversaw Project, MRket and The Collective, and [he] has been instrumental in creating a platform to support men’s wear designers. We know that Tommy will continue to make a positive impact in fashion industry.”
Fazio could not be reached for comment Monday on his plans.
