Tretorn is dipping its toes into the apparel market.
The Swedish footwear brand is making available a limited-edition apparel capsule for women that is being sold exclusively at nordstrom.com and at seven select stores. Those store locations include: Chicago, Ill.; Houston, Tex.; Aventura, Fla.; three in California at Santa Monica, Century City and Palo Alto, and in Vancouver, Canada. The capsule includes varsity cardigans and pants, belted crop pullover knits and pleated midi skirts, as well as pinstripe cardigans and track pants and chevron dresses.
Next up is a men’s capsule that will be available in June, also at nordstrom.com and select stores. The men’s line will include tennis-inspired styles that include convertible track jackets with pants, popovers, Ts and shorts.
Price ranges for both capsule collections are from $55 to $295.
Brand management firm Authentic Brands Group acquired the brand from Puma in June 2015. Puma acquired the brand in 2002. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The label’s focus on the outdoor-living lifestyle category is part of ABG’s sports and lifestyle group. Other brands in ABG’s sports and lifestyle group include Spyder, Tapout and Prince.
Jamie Salter, chairman and chief executive officer of ABG, said at the time of acquisition that his plan is to expand Tretorn into multiple categories, first into accessories and later into sportswear.
Tretorn in the past has had collaborations with designers and retailers such as Comme des Garçons, Richard James, H&M and J. Crew for its Canvas Nylite sneaker.
