UBM Advanstar will debut a new trade show called FWD this summer — launched by the WWDMagic team — to showcase the junior market.
The event, slated for Aug. 2 to 4 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York, will feature accessories, apparel and denim for juniors at a fast-fashion price point with nothing retailing for more than $100, according to Kelly Helfman, the show’s director.
“We see a really strong performance on the West Coast with our junior ready-to-wear at WWDMagic [in Las Vegas], and it was a no-brainer to launch a show over on the East Coast,” said Helfman.
Noteworthy brands, many of which are L.A.-based, expected to take part in FWD include Nikibiki, Urban Day, Blu Pepper, Flying Tomato, Wow Couture and Honey Punch.
The show will run concurrently with Intermezzo, Accessorie Circuit and Children’s Club at the Javits three times a year. “FWD is going to broaden and expand what we can offer to the retailer and provide more buying opportunity within the New York market,” Helfman said.
