Allure editor in chief Michelle Lee has begun to put her new team in place.

Lee, a former Nylon editor in chief and chief marketing officer, dipped into her old Rolodex to tap Renee Rupcich as design director. Rupcich comes from Nylon, Domino and Men’s Vogue. The editor grabbed Teen Vogue’s managing editor Amanda Meigher as Allure’s managing editor, and fashion stylist Rachael Wang as fashion director. Wang has held jobs at sister titles Glamour and Allure also named Jeremy Allen, a former Bloomberg, GQ and Vogue editor, as its new senior photo editor.

The appointments come after Allure cut about 15 senior-level staff on Friday, including Paul Cavaco, the well-known creative director. The changes backstop Allure’s biggest change; in December, Allure founding editor in chief Linda Wells was let go, and Lee was ushered in by Condé Nast to take the helm of the beauty-centric glossy.

“Beauty is an aspect of life in which the Allure audience not only participates, but revels in, in a big way,” said Lee. “Our new team is passionate about making our content— whether on print, digital or video — more than simply instructional, but approachable, enjoyable and empowering for our audience.”
