The Bauer Media Group is introducing a flat fee for its digital products.

The Hamburg, Germany-based media firm has partnered with rate provider Readly. The deal will allow users access to more than 100 digital titles in Germany, the U.K. and the U.S. for $9.99 a month.

“The partnership with Readly is a further step on the road to extending the sale of digital magazines,” said Andreas Schoo, executive board member of Bauer, who is responsible for the group’s international digital business. “Flat-fee models are already very successful in other media segments, such as music and film.”

The partnership will allow Bauer to access the new distribution channel and, therefore, new sources of revenue, the company said, adding that the platform is “one more channel for fully exploiting the sales potential of the brands.”

“Readly offers an ideal platform for digitally inclined people who like to be inspired and want to choose their own digital magazines individually and spontaneously, without being restricted to certain titles,” offered Carsten Schüerhoff, head of digital brand solutions and innovations.

In the U.S., Bauer operates In Touch Weekly, Life & Style and Closer, as well as a host of smaller titles.
