For the first time in more than 18 years, Brides Magazine has a new fashion director — Elle Strauss.
Having worked as a fashion director and stylist for a number of different companies and brands, she was most recently fashion and style director at Shopbop. Strauss succeeds Rachel Leonard who exited Condé Nast July 31, after an 18-year tenure.
Strauss is not a newcomer to Condé Nast, having previously served as senior fashion editor at Lucky. She has also worked as a stylist for notables and lifestyle brands including Heidi Klum, Amanda Seyfried, Anthropologie, Sony, Adidas and PepsiCo. Her influence at Brides will be most evident in the February/March issue, which breaks Dec. 24 — as the holidays are the high season for wedding engagements. The British-born Strauss started her career at The Face.
Brides editor in chief Keija Minor, said of Strauss, “Her impeccable sense of style, creative vision and proven track record as a leading fashion director and stylist will be extremely valuable, as we continue to take the brand to new heights.”
