TWEET QUEEN: Catherine Deneuve is to perform Loïc Prigent’s sarcastic fashion-related tweets.
Her reading of the journalist’s one-liners — in the format of two-minute segments — will be aired on the Franco-German TV network Arte and its Web site Arte Creative at the end of September, Prigent told WWD.
Prigent’s Twitter handle, with a 185,000-strong following, bursts with gems he’s heard front row at shows and elsewhere while reporting on fashion.
Recent tweets include: “Once, I fell on the catwalk and Donatella told me: ‘Who falls? Just the stars, not normal people,'” or “Today is March 31. It’s the last day of Hedi Slimane’s contract at Saint Laurent.”
While some argue these are so exaggerated that they can only be made up, it’s agreed he has an entertaining sense of humor.
Prigent is behind the popular “Habillé(e)s Pour” documentaries, a lively recap of every fashion season done in collaboration with French television personality Mademoiselle Agnès that airs on French network Canal Plus. Prigent also did the “Signé Chanel” saga from 2005 and the “The Day Before” series.
