FAMILY TIES: Charlotte Gainsbourg and her 13-year-old daughter Alice are the stars of Comptoir des Cotonniers’s fall campaign, WWD has learned. They were chosen to showcase the first collection designed by Anne-Valérie Hash as the French chain marks its 20th anniversary and highlights its legacy of dressing mothers and daughters. The campaign was photographed by Alasdair McLellan in Paris and is to be unveiled in August.
Meanwhile, Gainsbourg’s actor husband, Yvan Attal, is to appear in ads for another French fashion chain — Zadig & Voltaire. Photographer Frédéric Meylan portrayed Attal as a rock ‘n’ roll Parisian wearing items including a peacoat, cashmere sweater and military-style parka. The campaign debuts in September in France, Italy and the U.S. Sasha Pivovarova is the face of the women’s campaign.
According to Zadig, Attal is currently filming a comedy, “#lesjuifs,” in which his wife also appears.
