NEW YORK — Steven T. Florio, president and chief executive officer of The New Yorker, has been named president of Conde Nast Publications.

He succeeds Bernard H. Leser, who will return to his native Australia to head Conde Nast’s Far East operations.

The company is expected to announce these changes this week.

The New Yorker is published by Advance Publications Inc., parent company of Conde Nast.
