DIGITAL DEBUT: Condé Nast U.K. said five of its titles would make a digital debut on Apple News, a free newsreader app. The titles are Vogue, Glamour, Wired and Ars Technica, a publication for PC enthusiasts.
The app is to host a range of editorial content from the print publications and Web sites, updated daily by the Condé Nast Digital team.
Burberry will have exclusive advertising across the U.K. titles for three months and the brand’s ads will be placed on digital versions of U.S. Vanity Fair and GQ on the Apple News channels.
“The launch of Apple News is an exciting opportunity for Condé Nast to put its premium digital content in the hands of the world’s most savvy mobile users,” said Will Harris, Condé Nast Britain’s head of digital. “By creating bespoke layouts that scale beautifully across Apple devices, we are delighted to be able to offer the premium look and feel that Condé Nast is known for, in this new native format.”
The publishing company touted an audience increase of 18 percent year on year with a total of 11,854,984 users across all Web sites. The company reports a total of 2,286,590 replica digital edition downloads across all titles to date and 1,606,309 mobile app downloads.
