CORNELIA BARES ALL: Cornelia Guest has bared all for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ upcoming “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” ad campaign. The daughter of the style-setter C.Z. Guest and national polo champion Winston Frederick Churchill Guest, PETA’s newest pinup no longer wears fur as she once did.

“Cornelia epitomizes elegance, privilege and sophistication. She represents a part of society that used to embrace fur. She is a great example of someone who has lived and learned,” said Dan Mathews, senior vice president of campaigns for PETA.

In fact, Guest has a few animal-friendly business pursuits, including a vegan handbag collection, a signature cookie label that helps benefit the Humane Society and a catering company that relies heavily on organically grown products. Guests attending Wednesday’s unveiling of her new ad are encouraged to join her in “bringing any old furs” so that PETA can donate them to the homeless for Thanksgiving.

Flyers with images of her undressed self will be posted in Manhattan in two weeks, and print ads are expected to run in several “high society” magazines, Mathews said. With the help of photographers and stylists who agreed to work pro bono (as is customary for PETA), the group is spending about $50,000 on the project but should reap what is comparable to a $500,000 media buy, he said.

George Clooney’s ex Elisabetta Canalis has also shot an “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” ad, which will be unveiled in Milan on Nov. 28. Before she became a “Dancing With the Stars” alum, the leggy brunette was an Italian TV personality. “Italy is a big fashion capital, so our plan is to try to amp up our antifur campaign there,” Mathews said.
