GREEN’S KNIGHT: London men’s designer Craig Green, a rising star known for his thoughtful take on masculine dressing, has worked with photographer Nick Knight on his debut campaign for fall. The campaign will be in both print and film form, with the film to go live on Knight’s ShowStudio Web site in June, ahead of the London Collections: Men shows. Knight described Green’s work as having “a brilliant tension. On one hand, it’s so simple and pure, rooted in ideas of traditional masculine workwear, but on the other it’s so dynamic, so theatrical — full of energy and movement. That’s what makes it so special to photograph,” said Knight.
Green said Knight understood “what we wanted to express, and the energy of the collection.”
Details of the campaign have not been revealed.
Meanwhile, Dover Street Market’s stores in London and New York will house installations based on the campaign, with the New York installation to launch next week, in time for the Frieze Art Fair that opens Thursday. Then in June, Dover Street Market London’s windows will showcase a similar installation when the collection launches in the store.
Adrian Joffe, chief executive officer of Dover Street Market, described Green as an “extraordinary talent. He has what is fairly rare these days, which is a total vision for his creative expression. It’s the whole picture that he sees, which is what makes it so strong.”
