Elle’s Web site is adding some new names to its masthead.
The Hearst-owned site has named Chloe Schama to the new role of executive editor, and Nikki Ogunnaike as senior fashion editor.
Both editors will report to Elle.com editor in chief Leah Chernikoff. At Hearst, digital staff reports to the editor in chief of a site, not the print editor. Digital is led by division president Troy Young. Recently, the group has made several hires as it continues to evolve with the times.
At Elle, Schama, who worked at The New Republic as managing editor and most recently as story editor, will oversee features editing, recruit new voices and manage daily content. She will start her job on Aug. 17.
Ogunnaike, previously the senior digital style editor at Glamour since 2012, will join the site on Aug. 24 where she will oversee all fashion content, including runway, market, news, red carpet and accessories.
The Web site has also brought in new contributors to focus on women’s issues, race, diversity, politics and technology. Contributors will include actress and singer Priyanka Chopra; writer and speaker Ashley Ford; writer Jessica Grose; actress Jaime King; actress and author Jenny Mollen; writer and cofounder of TheLi.st Glynnis MacNicol, and actress Nikki Reed.
