FASHION STARS SPIN OFF: NBC’s “Fashion Star” is paying off even for contestants who won’t end up making it into the final four. Lizzie Parker and Nicholas Bowes, two former competitors who were sent home in episodes three and one, respectively, have joined forces to launch Lizzie Parker Blue Label. The line of knit blouses will retail for less than $30 and sell in Nordstrom Racks nationwide come June. “It’s definitely West Coast casual and each piece has one special detail, like the binding or asymmetric hem,” said Parker, a Seattle resident who operates her own store in addition to wholesaling her Lizzie Parker line.

Bowes, who owns a manufacturing company in Los Angeles, is producing the Blue Label line. “We’re not taking any shortcuts. The quality is there,” said Bowes, who has a clothing line called Krma. He said appearing on “Fashion Star” was intended to bring recognition to his line, but opened up a new path to collaborating with Parker for a larger market. “It’s fun to take what I learned in the trenches and pop it up a few levels,” she said.
