Yahoo Finance has tapped Andy Serwer as editor in chief.
Serwer spent 29 years at Time Inc., where most recently he worked as Fortune’s editor in chief. Time Inc. dismissed Serwer over the summer and replaced him with Alan Murray.
At Yahoo Finance, Serwer replaces former editor in chief Aaron Task, who held the top spot for seven years.
As part of his mandate at the digital giant, Serwer will expand the finance division’s content and coverage, which includes more video.
Serwer, who will be based in Yahoo’s New York office, starts his new job today.
