Gucci unveiled its spring advertising campaign, entirely set in Rome. Shot by photographer Glen Luchford, male and female models interpret a collective of artists, intellectuals and outsider characters in eccentric and surreal scenarios, infused with creative director Alessandro Michele’s signature aesthetic.
Referencing a generation of intellectuals who were born or lived in Rome, like the American painter Cy Twombly, Italian artist Mario Schifano and actress Laura Betti, both the color and black and white images also include wild cats roaring in the city’s streets, giraffes fed with grapes during al fresco dinners and indoor shots showcasing lions and tigers in domestic settings.
In addition, the campaign includes a short movie, also directed by Luchford. Both the images and 60-second footage feature models Daisy Cvitkovic, Dwight Hoogendijk, Unia Pakhomova, Douglas Payne, Elibeidy Danis Martinez, Lina Horst, Tessa Bruinsma, Ellen De Weer, Lorens Miklasevics, Olof Källström, Nick Fortna and Nicole Atieno.

The campaign will debut in international magazines starting Jan. 1.
