HL Group, the New York-based strategic marketing and communications firm, has acquired Alice Ryan’s “A Company.”

Founded in 1999, the NoHo-based A Company focuses on the luxury brand market for events and public relations. Some of its clients have included Asprey, Bergdorf Goodman, Condé Nast Publications, Cole Haan, Givenchy, Tag Heurer, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, WSJ Magazine, Hearst’s Elle and Harper’s Bazaar magazines, Dior Beauty, Forevermark and Jo Malone.

“We have an outstanding reputation for excellence across multiple luxury industries, and Alice comes with her own expertise and point of view at a time of strong growth for our company,” said HL chief executive officer Robert Harwood-Matthews. “She is incredibly well-known and has a unique perspective that we can now bring to both our current and future clients.”

A former public relations director for Oscar de la Renta, Ryan started her career in London, where she represented Jimmy Choo, La Perla, Topshop and Céline. She said she is eager to join HL, a group that shares her vision for “being best in class.”

“We have known Alice for quite some time, and we have always had great admiration for her vision and attention to detail,” said the HL’s cofounder, Lynn Tesoro. “She is a perfect fit with us as we continue to grow and diversify our services and client list, and she will only serve to reinforce the services we offer.”
