Il Sole 24 Ore Group, which publishes Italy’s economic newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, on Thursday launched a new digital daily called Italy24. Written in English, the goal is to throw light on Italy with the help of an Italian point of view and to draw the attention of potential investors on the country. Fashion will not have a dedicated space, but its manufacturing will be treated in the Business&Economy section, and it is expected to be explored in the Art&Leisure pages. Donatella Treu, executive director of the group, explained that this is “a product that was missing,” especially since “Italy is facing major changes.” Treu pointed to Italy’s current presidency of the European Union and to the fact that the country is gearing up for World Expo 2015. “With Italy24 we want to offer an indispensable tool to the international business community that will provide the correct perception of the country with the same authority that marks the information of the Gruppo 24 Ore,” said Treu. Italy24 targets economic and legal entities, as well as universities, Think Tanks, and international organizations.
