STICKING AROUND: Readers of the blog Fashionista could be forgiven if they weren’t completely skeptical of a report on the Web site that Conde Nast Digital editorial director Jamie Pallot was leaving the company. The division has undergone a sea change in recent weeks as its corporate overseers traded trademark property over to Fairchild Fashion Group, and then reshuffled most of its sales and marketing responsibliities to the Conde Nast Media Group. But Pallot, as it turns out, is still very much in the building.

“It’s not true; I don’t know where they got it from,” he told WWD in response to the post, which cited sources who said he was leaving the company. The Conde communications department took things from there.


“Jamie Pallot has been and will continue to be a critical part of the Conde Nast Digital team,” a Conde Nast spokeswoman said. “In addition to continuing to grow and innovate in our existing digital businesses, we are very focused on adding to our digital portfolio via new product development, partnerships, and acquisitions.”


By afternoon, the blog had added the official Conde statement to its post in an update. The story’s author, Lauren Sherman, stuck by her reporitng when asked for comment on the kerfuffle. She told WWD that she had “heard the news from reliable sources inside Conde Nast.” — Matthew Lynch


ITALIAN JOB: Lisa Pomerantz, worldwide communications director of Bottega Veneta, is exiting the post, WWD has learned. Pomerantz headed communications at the Italian firm since its acquisition by Gucci Group in 2001. A succession plan has yet to be disclosed.
