MARINE MOMENT: Twenty years after the launch of his corseted Classique followed by the stripe-shirted Le Mâle, Jean Paul Gaultier is giving the iconic scents silver-screen treatment. A film lensed by British director Johnny Green, called “On the Docks,” is set break in France on Thursday both on television and in movie theaters, according to Eric Henry, chief operating officer at Beauté Prestige International, the Shiseido division holding the Gaultier fragrance license. The steamy advertisement starring Jarrod Scott and Rianne Ten Haken, which premiered in Italy two weeks ago, should hit the U.S. in late November or early December. It’s a new chapter in the love story of a sailor and his girlfriend that will appear in 15-, 20- and 30-second spots.

Gaultier is the latest fragrance label to delve into the “seventh art.” Recently, Dior, Guerlain and Chanel have all launched big-budget film campaigns.
