NEW YORK — WWD publisher Paul Jowdy has been promoted to senior vice president and group publisher, effective immediately.

In his expanded role, Jowdy will lead the Fairchild Summits & Events division as well as collaborate with each of the brands of parent company Penske Media Corp. to extend their industry presence. Jowdy assumes this role after having successfully served for the past three years as vice president and publisher of WWD. Jowdy will work with Stephanie George, who recently returned to Fairchild as president and vice chairman. George will oversee the business management of all Fairchild Media, which includes WWD, FN, Fairchild Summits & Events, Beauty Inc and international brand expansion.

Jay Penske, chairman and chief executive officer of Fairchild parent Penske Media Corp., said: “With Stephanie, Paul, Ellen [Dealy], Sandi [Mines] and Jennifer [Macaluso] leading the major business initiatives across the Fairchild organization, our brands are poised for their next phase of growth and innovation. Macaluso will report to Jowdy, integrating Fairchild’s Summits & Events business with WWD’s sales efforts. Prior to Jowdy’s position at Fairchild, he was vice president and publisher of Details after serving as publisher of Bon Appétit, associate publisher of Vanity Fair, and advertising director of Condé Nast Traveler.
