LONDON — Karl Lagerfeld is to speak at Condé Nast International’s first luxury conference, called “Hard Luxury,” which will take place in Florence April 22 and 23, 2015.

He will join a roster of speakers including Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin; Patrizio di Marco, president and chief executive officer of Gucci, and Marigay McKee, president of Saks Fifth Avenue.

Suzy Menkes, international Vogue editor, described Lagerfeld as “unique among designers for his refusal to look back — even to his own great past. No one is smarter or faster in perceiving fashion’s future, and we look forward to hearing his insights.”

The conference, held in partnership with Swarovksi, will take place at Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio under the patronage of Mayor Dario Nardella.
