DIVIDE AND CONQUER: Lagardère Active said Friday it is reorganizing its magazine holdings into four “brand universes” to help accelerate digitalization and strengthen advertising sales. These include high-end women’s, news, mass market and entertainment.

High-end women’s, to be overseen by Constance Benqué, includes Elle, Elle Décoration, Elle à Table and Art & Décoration. Meanwhile, the news segment comprised of Paris Match, Le Journal du Dimanche and Version Femina will be overseen by Philippe Pignol.

Claire Léost has been appointed chief of mass-market branch, comprising Télé 7 Jours and its associated titles, Ici Paris and France Dimanche. Entertainment — involving the app and the site for Télé 7 Jours, Plurimedia, TV Replay, and BilletRéduc, among other holdings — will be run by Kevin Benharrats.

As reported Lagardère Active in October 2013, said it would put 10 publications on the block, including the women’s magazine Be, Maison & Travaux and Psychologies Magazine, as part of a plan to focus on brands with a strong potential for digital development. It will keep flagship titles including Elle and its international editions, Paris Match, Télé 7 Jours and Public.

Lagardère Active’s parent company Lagardère SA is France’s largest magazine publisher.
