NEW LOOK: Lancel is getting a makeover. Emboldened by the success of its new handbag designs, like the Charlie, the French brand is getting a new logo and store concept. The logo is a modernized version of the sign above the brand’s store near the Paris Opera, opened in 1929. A Thirties spirit also informed the new store design by architecture firm Ciguë, which uses white Plaster of Paris, black lacquer and blond wood to graphic effect.

The new-look boutique was unveiled on Friday with the opening of a shop-in-shop at the Printemps flagship on Boulevard Haussmann. The logo also appears on the brand’s spring advertising campaign, shot by Patrick Demarchelier and featuring Malgosia Bela toting a Charlie bag.
