PopSugar Inc. named Lisa Sugar president, a new position at the media company.

The San Francisco-based company said Sugar, who cofounded PopSugar with husband Brian Sugar in 2006, will keep her editor in chief duties.

The additional responsibilities come as the company aims to tap a broader, global audience and the business’ continued focus on native advertising. The latter has been seen in efforts such as the launch of PopSugar Bakery, a digital advertising arm serving the brands it works with, and PopSugar Studios, where videos are shot in the company’s Culver City, Calif. office.

The company’s business includes its namesake media publishing platform, a monthly subscription box service called PopSugar Must Have and the shopping site ShopStyle. PopSugar said its business units have helped drive over $1 billion in revenue to its retail partners.

The company is backed by Sequoia Capital and Institutional Venture Partners.
