CARFRAE TO LEAVE LAUREN: Malcolm Carfrae has resigned his post as global head of communications, public relations and media at Ralph Lauren Corp. He has been in the role since July 2014.
Carfrae said he plans to set up his own global consultancy, based in New York. His last day at Ralph Lauren will be May 13.
Prior to joining Lauren, Carfrae spent 11 years at Calvin Klein Inc., where he rose to executive vice president and chief communications officer. Earlier, the Australian native was senior director at Bryan Morel PR in London.
At Ralph Lauren, Carfrae was responsible for such areas as global public relations and corporate communications, as well as celebrity relations, and shared oversight of social media and global media planning. No replacement has been named.
Assuming some of Carfrae’s responsibilities will be Florinka Pesenti, vice president, public relations, luxury collections, who will oversee all brands globally, including special events and celebrity relations. Ryan Lally, vice president of corporate communications, has been elevated to vice president of global corporate communications.
