Iana dos Reis Nunes will join Marc Jacobs as head of global communications on Aug. 10. She succeeds Billy Daley, who left the company last week.
Dos Reis Nunes is vice president of public relations at Coach, a post she has held since November 2013. Her career prior to Coach focused on luxury; she spent a year as vice president of global communications at The Row following a stint as executive director of p.r. at Chanel.
Prior to Chanel, dos Reis Nunes spent 10 years at Louis Vuitton, rising to the position of p.r. director for Louis Vuitton North America. This move marks a return to the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton fold and reunites her with Jacobs.
Marc Jacobs International is in transition under chief executive officer Sebastian Suhl. In March, the firm shuttered the Marc by Marc Jacobs label with plans to expand the signature Marc Jacobs product and price ranges so that the company will have a fuller lifestyle offering from luxury through contemporary. The house is also deepening its p.r. and marketing staffs, and will soon add heads of events and celebrity, according to sources.
Suhl, dos Reis Nunes and Daley all declined comment.
