GREEN THUMB: Mélanie Laurent fronts the cover of a special issue of Elle France dedicated to the environment, ahead of the Paris climate summit (COP21) that opens here on Sunday.
Laurent appears naked among leaves, only partially covered by a woolen sweater by Parisian label Roseanna, with the headline reading “La Nouvelle Eve” (or The New Eve, in English).
Inside the rounded-shaped issue, that was printed with vegan ink on recycled paper, there’s an interview with the actress and director. She speaks about her documentary “Demain” (or ‘Tomorrow’) that she co-directed with Cyril Dion, due in French theaters on Dec. 2.
The issue also features profiles of “green heroines” including Stella McCartney, Jane Goodall and Naomi Klein; plus quotes of designers who answered the question: “When do you feel eco-friendly?”
The 90-page issue has advertisers including Yves Rocher, Rolex and Carrefour. It is set to hit newsstands on Nov. 27 in the Paris region and elsewhere in France on Nov. 28, priced at 9.90 euros, or $10.50 at current exchange.
