ANY IRISHMAN WILL DO: The March issue of Good Housekeeping features a St. Patrick’s Day stew recipe from Conan O’Brien. The only problem is that O’Brien didn’t create the recipe or send it to the magazine. On Monday’s “Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” the show host had a bone to pick with the magazine, noting that, “I’ve never cooked anything in my life. I didn’t send this to them; they completely made this up.” He added that, “I love this magazine, I’m not mad or anything,” guessing the Hearst Magazines title just “grabbed the most Irish fathead they could find.”

“It was me or Ted Kennedy,” O’Brien joked. His only request? “Would you please just send me some of that stew? I’d love it if you sent me some, so that I could try it.” A Good Housekeeping spokeswoman said, “According to a reputable source, which has regularly provided celebrity recipes to the magazine, this was Conan’s personal St. Patrick’s Day stew recipe. Now that Conan has made us aware that he can’t cook ramen noodles, let alone a stew, we will no longer be using that source and would love to invite [O’Brien] to the Good Housekeeping Test Kitchen to take a cooking class with our food director Susan Westmoreland.” — Amy Wicks

REAL OR JUST FUN?: Who’s behind the spoofs of Marc Jacobs ads that are making the rounds on the Internet? As a play on Juergen Teller’s campaign for the brand, the fake ads are called, “Mr. Teller’s Borg + McEnroe,” referring to Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, and feature two men in tennis gear. A Marc Jacobs spokeswoman said it wasn’t the brand pulling a joke on its fans — the company doesn’t know who did them. She had no further comment. — A.W.

PUMA PUMPS: Puma’s putting some new fashionable shoes on, with the help of Scottish singer-songwriter Paulo Nutini. The sportswear brand has tapped Nutini to feature in its spring Sport lifestyle ad campaign, “Puma Runway.” The commercial will feature Nutini’s hit song “New Shoes” from his debut album “These Streets,” and launches on TV and online in April in the U.S., Japan in May and in Europe and Asia in June. Puma is creating a behind-the-scenes documentary about the collaboration, and Nutini is scheduled to perform live with the brand at a pre-Olympics event in August. Puma Runway includes men’s and women’s apparel, accessories and footwear, and is focused on the forthcoming Olympic Games. “I thought this was a great idea. All Puma ads I’d seen in the past where classy looking so I grabbed the chance with both hands,” said Nutini. — Lucie Greene

PHOTO FINISH: The International Center of Photography will honor Craig McDean with one of its 2008 Annual Infinity Awards on May 12 at Chelsea Piers’ Pier Sixty. The British-born photographer, music video and commercial director worked as a car mechanic before getting his start in fashion. Another honoree, Magnum lensman Ren? Burri, winner of this year’s Cornell Capa Award, once said, “I never thought I would become a photographer.” Other winners include Malick Sidib? and Diane Keaton. They will take home the Lifetime Achievement Award and the ICP Trustees Award, respectively. — Rosemary Feitelberg
