NO BASH FOR MR. BIG: It seems Ron Galotti doesn’t want a star-studded send-off after all. The former GQ publisher, who’s starting a new life as a gentleman farmer in Vermont, asked Tina Brown to cancel the farewell party she was planning to throw May 19. The two worked together at Talk and Vanity Fair. “Ron called Tina to say that he couldn’t make it because he has to buy his animals that day,” said Brown’s assistant Wednesday. Galotti was invited to reschedule, but probably won’t, said a friend. A former colleague speculated Galotti might not feel comfortable appearing in public so soon after being quoted in New York magazine expressing bitterness toward several Condé Nast executives, including Steve Florio, who fired him last summer. “I think [the article] was his kiss-off, f— you, swan song, he’s out of here,” the former colleague said.
