GEMFIELDS POLISHES UP MILA KUNIS: Gemfields, the London-based colored gemstone producer that acquired Fabergé earlier this year, has named Mila Kunis the company’s new brand ambassador and the face of its latest advertising campaign. Photographed by Mario Sorrenti and styled by Anastasia Barbieri, the ads feature Kunis wearing one-of-a-kind emerald and ruby jewelry created by six of Gemfields’ designer partners: Alexandra Mor, Amrapali, Dominic Jones Jewelry, The Gem Palace, Sutra and Fabergé. The global campaign, running in books including Vogue, Vanity Fair and W, is part of a multi-pronged consumer initiative including a newly revamped Web site launching this spring, a coffee table book on emeralds and a collection of jewelry designed in collaboration with 37 international designers debuting in March. “Before signing on, it was incredibly important to me to know where everything comes from,” said Kunis, who was the guest of honor at a lunch at Soho House West Hollywood on Tuesday. She spent four days in Africa touring Gemfields’ mine in Zambia, which produces roughly 20 percent of the world’s emeralds. “I want to learn from the people I surround myself with and the companies I work for, because when I don’t listen to that little gut [feeling], it doesn’t work out that well.”
