OBSERVATION DECK: Musical chairs continue in the French press. Olivier Wicker, editorial director at Nouvel Observateur’s Obession magazine, a monthly supplement, is leaving after Paris Fashion Week, WWD has learned.
Arnaud Sagnard, who was heading news, investigation and reports at GQ France, is to take over at Obsession. Wicker didn’t hint at his plans.
In 2013, paid circulation of Nouvel Observateur in France was 498,558, down from 503,371 in 2012, according to France’s Audit Bureau.
The French newsweekly was recently acquired Pierre Bergé, Xavier Niel and Matthieu Pigasse, the triumvirate that also owns Le Monde group.
Earlier this month, Françoise-Marie Santucci resigned from Libération’s Next. In the context of Libération’s restructuring, editors Clément Ghys and Elvire von Bardeleben will handle fashion.
