PALAZZO VALENTINO: The ornate Sicilian Palazzo Valguarnera-Gangi in Palermo serves as the background for Valentino’s fall campaign, lensed by Deborah Turbeville. In her second effort with the Italian house, the photographer zoomed in on the red gowns by creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, juxtaposed against the plush carpets, dripping chandeliers and imposing, gilded doors of the Palazzo, a jewel of Sicilian Baroque architecture, where director Luchino Visconti chose to film some of the most memorable scenes of his 1963 film “Il Gattopardo.”

“Deborah captures her models emphasizing the values of the Valentino women exquisitely. They’re sophisticated, romantic and dreamy, but with a dark modern edge,” said Chiuri. The campaign will bow in July.
