PARIS HEARTS FASHION: The City of Light is upping its fashion ante for the upcoming show season, which runs from Sept. 27 to Oct. 5. City Hall is to launch its third campaign to support fashion with the slogan “La Mode Aime Paris” [or “Fashion Loves Paris”]. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has been a major backer of the fashion sector since taking the post in March 2014 and her support will be visible across the city. The poster featuring a model wearing a yellow Issey Miyake dress and Jacquemus shoes will be plastered around the city from Sept. 21 to Oct. 5. The campaign photographed by Julia Noni, under the artistic direction of Thibault Caizergues and Elisa Valenzuela also features the Eiffel Tower in the background. “Fashion will always be at home in the city where it was born. It’s in Paris that the history of fashion will continue to be written,” Hidalgo told WWD. Some 90 shows are slated to be staged in France’s capital, as part of the official calendar during the upcoming season. The event attracts around 1,500 journalists.
